According to research, a credit card is still considered a privilege, not available for more than 90% of the population in India.

There was no option earlier to buy a mobile on EMI with a debit card. Good news is now you have debit card EMI option for mobile purchase online.

This is the first time you can buy a mobile on EMI on debit card from Flipkart and Amazon India.

You can buy all your favourite mobile brands including the most popular Samsung mobile on EMI on debit card option.

Apart from Mobiles, you can also shop for Televisions, Large Appliances, Furniture, Cameras, Laptops, Household products and many more.

Buy Mobile on EMI with Debit Card- How it Works?

As you might agree, Smartphones are expensive. Not everyone can afford to buy a smartphone by paying a lump sum amount.

At the same time, smartphones are not considered as a luxury item anymore, it has become a necessity in our day to day life

Flipkart and Amazon India now allow its shoppers to buy Mobile on EMI by Debit Card. To recall, until now there are only two options available to get EMI facility on Flipkart. The first option is the credit card and the other one is Bajaj Finserve EMI card.

Now you have a third EMI option to purchase mobile on EMI with a debit card even though there’s no sufficient balance. I will explain this in detail, please keep reading.

If you are Amazon India Customer, follow these simple steps to purchase phones on EMI on a debit card.

How to avail Debit Card EMI on Amazon India?

1. Choose the mobile you wish to buy
2. Check on the No cost EMI availability on the product page
3. Click on Buy Now option on the product page
4. Enter the delivery address and proceed to the payment page
5. Choose ‘EMI’ option from the payment method
6. Select the debit card, choose EMI tenure and continue to check out

Currently, the debit card EMI is available only for select HDFC, ICICI, AXIS and SBI debit cardholders to shop on Amazon India.

If you have not added your debit card in EMI options, please go ahead and the card to check the eligibility.

If you want to buy a mobile on EMI with a debit card on Flipkart, follow these simple steps.

How to avail Debit Card EMI on Flipkart?

1. If you are pre-approved user for Flipkart Debit card EMI option, you will see a customized communication on the home page of a mobile app or website.
2. You can also find the option ( if you are pre-approved) in the check out the page to see Debit Card EMI availability.
3. From the options displayed on the screen, you need to choose the EMI option. If you are a pre-approved user your applicable bank details will be displayed on the screen.
4. Now you need to select the applicable bank for the pre-approved debit card EMI.
5. In the next step, you would require choosing EMI tenure and click on continue.
6. In the last step, you should enter your debit card number, CVV number to proceed. You may receive a one-time verification password to confirm the debit card transaction.

That’s all you are done with first-ever debit card EMI facility to buy your favourite smartphone or any other products. However, there would be a minimum purchase amount based on your bank.

Flipkart has partnered with State bank of India (SBI), Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI bank to provide EMI facility on Debit cards. However, the Debit card option will be available to select customers at the discretion of the partnered banks.

The Debit card EMI option will be available for a select base of customers who are pre-approved by the banks. Eligibility is determined by the respective banks based on transaction history and other parameters.

If you are eligible for Debit card EMI option, you will get a customized communication about the offering on Flipkart mobile app/website home page, product page and check out page.

If you are a debit cardholder of above-mentioned banks and unable to see any communication,  that means your bank has not approved your eligibility to avail debit card EMI. In such cases, please contact your bank to know about your eligibility status.

Not eligible for Debit card EMI? Don’t worry! you can continue shopping on Amazon and Flipkart using EMIs on all major credit cards and Bajaj Finserve EMI network card.
